Indah Lestari. 2022, The Analysis Of Students‟ Error In Using Simple Present Tense For Writing Descriptive Text At Class X Teknik Pengelasan SMKN 1 Belitang Hilir In Academic Year 2021/2022. Thesis, English Education Study Program, STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang. Advisor I: Yokie Prasetya Dharma, M.Pd. BI . Advisor II: Henry Elisa, M.Pd. Keywords: descriptive text, writing, simple present tense, students errors This research aimed to know the students‟ errors in using simple present for writing descriptive text. The focus of this research is to find out the dominant errors and to identify the causes of errors that found in students‟ writing descriptive text products using simple present tense. The subject of this research is written by class X Teknik pengelasan students In SMKN 1 Belitang Hilir. The method used in this research is a qualitative. The data collected by using interview and documentation technique. The researcher used interview guidelines, and students' writing products as instrumentation. The documentation includes the data which from students writing product. The subjects of the research are 13 students. Qualitative data were analyzed through collection of a sample of learner language, identification of errors, description of errors and explanation of errors. The research results found from analyzed the students‟ writing product are 51% error in ommision,8% error in addition, 36% error in misformation, and 5% erorrin misordering. Based on the research showed that the most dominant students‟ errors were omission errors with (51%). Moreover, based on the interview english teacher and students could be concluded that the factors causing the students‟ errors in using present tense in writing descriptive text is carelesness.
