Ruslin. 2021, Applying Jigsaw Techniq to Improve Students’ Speaking Ability of Tenth Grade Students at SMA Negeri 1 Ketungau Tengah. Thesis, English Study Program STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang. Advisor 1: Ilinawati, M.Pd, Advisor II: Thomas Joni Verawanto Aristo, M.Pd. The main problem in the background of this research is the students speaking that is still very low. The objective of this research is the improvement of students’speaking ability and to describe the improvement of students’participation in learning activity through the implementation of jigsaw techniques. The subject of this research is the students of the tenth grade the consist of 20 students, 9 males and 11 females. The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR), the procedure of this Classroom Action Research was taken from the design proposed by Kurt Lewin. Its content of two sycle and each cycle involved four steps: (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observation (4) reflection. This Classroom Action Reserach (CAR) uses bothof qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were collected from observation, interview, field notes and measurement, while for quantitative data the researcher uses a speaking test to get the students score. The qualitative data were analyzed through assembling the data, coding the data, comparing the data, building interpretations, and reporting the outcomes. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were analyzed through deskriptive statistic.
