Thesis, English Language Education Study Program STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang. Advisor I: Yokie Prasetya Dharma, M.Pd.B.I., Advisor II: Ferdinanda Itu Meo, M.Pd Keywords: gadget, students’ perceptions, vocabulary learning This research discusses students' perceptions of the use of gadgets in vocabulary learning at SMP Negeri 2 Sintang. This research aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of gadgets in vocabulary learning in grade IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Sintang in the future. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive qualitative type. Researchers conducted this research to understand students' perceptions to gadget use in the technological era and whether gadgets can attract their interest. In this research, researchers analyzed the data with the stages of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Participants answered the questionnaire and the results were used as material to be processed by the researcher. The researcher collected data in ninth grade consisting of 65 students. The results of student answers are grouped into two, namely positive responses and negative responses. In the research that the researchers have done, 88% of the responses obtained are positive responses from the questionnaire results, and there are 12% negative responses from students. From the results of student responses that have been obtained, students describe their various responses and perceptions of the use of this gadget. Most of the students stated that they were very happy and helped by the use of gadgets for English vocabulary learning, this is because the use of gadgets is very efficient. On the other hand, there are some students who think that the use of gadgets can make them lazy when learning English vocabulary. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the students expressed interest in using gadgets for English vocabulary learning in the future.
