Nanda Sukma. 2022, Improving Students Vocabulary Mastery By Using Flashcard Of Seventh Grade At SMP Negeri 03 Dedai In Academic Year 2022/2023. Thesis, English Language Education Study Program STKIP Persada Khatulistiwa Sintang. Advisor I: Tuti, M.Pd, Advisor II: Yokie Prasetya Dharma, M.Pd. BI Keywords: Classroom Action Research, flashcard, vocabulary mastery The problem of this research is the lack of students vocabulary mastery, students voacbulary is still low. The purpose of this research is to improve students‟ vocabulary mastery by using flashcard. The subject of this research were 16 students of seventh grade at SMP Negeri 03 Dedai consisted of 11 males and 5 females. This research used a Classroom Action Research design consisted of qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data through Observation checklist, field notes. Quantitative data, the researcher used test to calculate student score resulting of student participation in mastering student vocabulary. This can be seen from observation checklist data, field notes and test. In the first cycle based on observation checklist results it was 71% and the students vocabulary test result in the first cycle average value was still 67%. In the second cycle, the observation checklist results increased by 81% and the average test result for students in second cycle had increased to 80%. Based on the research results showing an improvement in vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 03 Dedai through the use of flashcards, it is expected that students can improve their English language skills, especially in vocabulary mastery, so they can communicate more effectively. Thus, it is expected that this research can provide benefits for students, teachers, and schools in improving English vocabulary mastery.
