Abstract

Learning is very dependent on student abilities, especially writing skills that help smooth the learning process. Writing as a person's skill to express ideas, thoughts, and knowledge. Flashcards are media that provide stimulation in the form of images equipped with words to help concretize concepts so that they can be easily understood by students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the
Cooperative Learning Model Type Make a Match Assisted by Flashcard Media on Story Writing Skills in Third Grade Students of SD Negeri 23 Menyumbung, Sintang Regency. The research approach used is quantitative. Experimental research method. Research form quasy experimental design. Research design nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Based on the results of teacher observation research in the experimental class, the average percentage of meeting I and meeting II was 100% with very good criteria. Based on students' story writing skills, the posttest of the experimental class and ckntrol class obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 < α = 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that there is a significant difference in students' story writing skills. Based on the processing of student response questionnaire data, the average percentage value is 85% with a very good category. Thus it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of make a match type assisted by flashcard media has a significant effect on story writing skills in Class III students of SD Negeri 23 Menyumbung. This research is expected to help students be more active in improving their writing skills and provide alternative effective learning models for teachers to apply to the learning process.
