The main problem in this study is the low interest in reading and student learning outcomes. This study aims to increase student interest in reading and learning outcomes by using letter puzzle media for grade 2 of SDN 09 Nanga Yen in the 2024/2025 academic year. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach and the form of research used is classroom action research (CAR). The model used is the Kemmins and Mc Taggart model with stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 13 grade 2 students of SDN 09 Nanga Yen. Data sources came from students, class teachers, learning activities, and documents. Data collection techniques were observation, tests and questionnaires. Data collection tools were observation sheets, test questions and student response questionnaires. The results of the study on the use of letter puzzle media to increase student interest in reading and learning outcomes are as follows. (1) It can be seen from the results of teacher observations in cycle I, namely 88.33% and in cycle II, namely 100%, an increase of 11.67%. (2) It can be seen from the average value before using the letter puzzle media, which is 61.64% with a KKM value of 75, after using the letter puzzle media in cycle I, meeting I, the average value is 63.07% from the initial value before using the letter puzzle media and after using the letter puzzle media, it increased by 1.43% and the second meeting, the average value is 75.38%, an increase of 12.31%. While in cycle II, the first meeting obtained an average value of 81.15% from cycle I, meeting II to cycle II, meeting I experienced an increase of 68.84% and the second meeting, the average value of 89.61% experienced an increase of 8.46%. (3) The results of student responses to the letter puzzle media are 83.30% with a very good category. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the use of letter puzzle media in learning can increase reading interest and learning outcomes of grade 2 students at SDN 09 Nanga Yen. With the results of this study, it is hoped that teachers will be more motivated to use innovative learning media such as letter puzzles in the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, it is hoped that schools will support and facilitate the use of creative learning media to improve the quality of education, particularly in increasing reading interest and student learning outcomes at the elementary school level. This research is also expected to inspire further research in developing various learning media that are appropriate to student characteristics.
