Abstract

The Enhancement of Students' Cognitive Learning Achievement Through
Contextual Learning Model on Multiplication and Division’s Matter. This
research aims to improve students’ cognitive learning achievement and improve
the learning process by applying the contextual learning model. The research used
in this study is descriptive qualitative research with an action research form
consisting of two cycles. The subjects in this study were third grade students of
Lepung Beruang State Elementary School 48 with a total of 43 students who were
taught through contextual learning models. Instruments to measure student
learning outcomes about the description questions as many as 5 questions while
to measure see the activities of teachers and students used observation sheet of
teacher and student activities. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively
containing the average value and percentage of classical completeness. The
results of the analysis using data analysis about the first cycle obtained 29 students
completed with an average value of 66,00 and classical completeness of 67,44%.
Then in cycle II students who completed 37 students with an average score of 78,
60 and classical completeness of 86,04% of students entered the good category.
Based on the observation results of teacher activities in the first cycle, at the first
meeting the teacher's activity was 60% and the first meeting was 65%. While on
silkus II the teacher's activity at the first meeting remained 65% and became 100%
at the second meeting. The results of this study can be concluded from the
contextual learning model can improve students’ cognitive learning achievement
in multiplication and division matter.
