ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA MAHASISWA PGSD STKIP PERSADA KHATULISTIWA SINTANG

SINTANG. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 60 mahasiswa kelas MIPA semester 6 tahun
akademik 2017/2018. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data hasil tes kemampuan
mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep matematika dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Soal
tes yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep
matematika terdiri atas 4 soal berbentuk essai dengan materi bilangan bulat dan
operasinya. Hasil tes kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan indicator pemahaman matematika
yaitu: 1) mampu menjelaskan sebuah defenisi dengan kata-kata sendiri menurut sifatsifat/ciri-ciri yang esensial, 2) mampu membuat/menyebutkan contoh dan yang bukan
contoh, dan 3) mampu menggunakan konsep dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Hasil
analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep
matematika masih tergolong rendah terbukti dari persentase ketercapaian tiap indicator
yang masih rendah. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan informasi kepada dosen
tentang kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika mahasiswa sehingga dosen
diharapkan dapat merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan
kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika mahasiswa.

data test results of students' capability in understanding the concepts of mathematics and
non-structured interviews. Question test that used to measure the capability of students in
understanding the concept of mathematics consists of 4 essays with the topic Integers
Numbers and its operations. The result of the test then analyzed based on indicators of
mathematical understanding: 1) able to explain a definition by own words according to
essential traits, 2) able to make / mention examples and not examples, and 3) able to use
the concept in solving the problem. The finding of data analysis showed that the capability
of students in understanding the concept of mathematics was still relatively low as
evidenced by the percentage of achievement of each indicator that still low. The results of
this study can provide information to lecturers about the students’ capability to understand
the concept of mathematics so that lecturers were expected to design learning activities
that can improve the students' math concept skills.
