ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIK

This research is based on the low ability of critical thinking students in solving story problems
in math subjects. This study aims to find out students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in
math subjects in the VA class of SDN 09 Sintang in the 2020/2021 school year. This study uses
descriptive qualitative methods. Qualitative research approach with descriptive form. Based on the
results of the study obtained: 1) The ability of critical thinking students in solving story problems in
math subjects in the VA class of SDN 09 Sintang amounted to 49.73 % low category, interpretation
indicator of 27.80%, analysis indicator of 57.32%, Evaluation indicator of 60.34%, and Inference
indicator of 53.45%. 2) Factors that affect students' critical thinking ability in solving story problems
are psychological learning factors that include intellectual development, motivation, and anxiety,
physiological factors that include physical condition, learning independence factors, and interaction
factors. 3) Teacher's efforts in improving students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems,
namely classroom management, using varied learning approaches and methods, creating interactions
between teachers and students, and evaluating learning that can stimulate strong and fast student
thinking processes.
