Abstract

The aims of this study are (1) to describe the teacher's ability to design Microsoft
Powerpoint as a learning medium. (2) Describe the factors that cause difficulties
for fifth grade teachers in making Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media.
(3) Describe what efforts can be made to overcome the difficulties of class V
teachers in making Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media. This research is
motivated by the problem of the low ability of class V teachers in making
Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media. This research uses qualitative
research methods in the form of case study research. The results showed that (1)
the ability of fifth grade teachers in making learning media based on Microsoft
Powerpoint was still lacking because fifth grade teachers only knew 36% of the
functions of the menus in Microsoft Powerpoint. (2) The factors causing the
difficulties of class V teachers, based on the research results are divided into two
factors, namely internal factors and external factors. (3) Efforts made to
overcome the difficulties of fifth grade teachers in making Microsoft Powerpointbased learning media are asking other teacher council friends who are considered
more knowledgeable about Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media and
browsing the internet regarding how to apply Microsoft Powerpoint. Based on
the results of the study, it can be concluded that the fifth grade teacher of the 7
Pelaik State Elementary School, Kayan Hilir District, Sintang Regency only
controls 36% of the menus in Microsoft Powerpoint, causing the teacher to have
difficulty in making Microsoft Powerpoint-based learning media.
