SMAN 1 Kayan Hilir This study aims to describe the role of Civics Education (PPKn) teachers in improving student discipline as an effort to strengthen character education at SMA Negeri 1 Kayan Hilir. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1). PPKn teachers play a very important role in shaping students' disciplinary character. This role is manifested through aspects: exemplary behavior, enforcement of rules, motivation, habituation, evaluation, and collaboration. Teachers do not only teach theory but also serve as direct examples of disciplined behavior, enforce school regulations with an educational approach, and build cooperation with parents and school stakeholders. 2). Supporting factors in improving student discipline include teacher exemplary behavior, religious activities, student organizations such as OSIS, and the strengthening of school rules. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include students' low awareness of school rules, minimal parental involvement, and negative peer influence. 3). Teachers’ efforts in strengthening character education are carried out through the habituation of disciplined attitudes, active communication with parents, and educational approaches that provide direct role models.
